Why does Arrowtown Hair have so many plants?

We love plants at Arrowtown Hair because plants are good for the planet and for living things. They absorb carbon dioxide and other toxins in the air, while releasing oxygen through their leaves. Which humans and animals need to breathe. 

Why do we have so many plants? They look amazing, and make us feel good. We love our little jungle we’ve created in the salon, and our clients do too. It makes the small space we have feel really nice and cozy. 

Our plants help purify the air even more in the salon and since we’ve made the change to Oway, we’ve really noticed an amazing difference in being able to keep all our babies alive. Oway’s colour range and hair care range are low chemical and organic, with natural ingredients. This means there is no ammonia in our colour, and we don’t have aerosol hairspray. Since this change, our plants have been thriving. 

Before we changed to the Oway range, we struggled to keep ONE peace lily alive in the salon, so that’s really saying something about the products we were using in the salon. Imagine how this would’ve been affecting us as hairdressers, our clients and even animals. We’re pleased we have found a more sustainable and healthy hair care and colour range. 

We have a wide variety of plants in our jungle salon. We have some Peace Lily, Aloe Vera, English Ivy, Chain of Hearts, Wandering Jew, Bridal Veil, Rubber Fig, Spider Plants. We all have our favourites. Jen’s is the Wandering Jew, Kellie’s is the Rubber Fig, Kirsty and Amelia’s is the Rex Begonia and Tam’s is the English Ivy. 

Every single one of us at Arrowtown Hair love plants. It brings us all so much joy from planting them, to growing them and caring for them. We think of it as another thing to take care of and be proud of, just like we do when making our clients feel amazing in the salon.
